Core coaching values

My approach to coaching is centred around feminist anti-oppression values and the understanding that you are the expert in your own life.

In the pursuit of transformative insight and personal growth, the combination of mindset work and justice work is essential.
— Katelyn Steven

The Personal is Political is an iconic feminist rallying cry and a recognition that deeply personal experiences are often shaped by existing political structures like Patriarchy, white supremacy, Capitalism and Imperialism.

Personal development work that doesn’t recognize and challenge power dynamics inherent in our society and relationships, simply trains gender-oppressed folks to acclimatize to their circumstances, abandoning themselves to maintain the status quo.

And I’m not here for that shit.

I’m here to help you access something much deeper, juicier, and more empowering than accepting your circumstances and adapting to the status quo.

I work with you and your innate wisdom to identify, challenge and heal from the things that hold you back. Together, we’ll also develop tools for you to feel embodied, empowered, and aligned with your greatest purpose.

How I apply my feminist values

  • As Sonya Renée Taylor asserts, “Your body is not an apology.” No matter the colour, size, shape, gender expression or ability of the one you inhabit, I won’t ever treat yours like it is one. Your body is sacred.

  • I work to immunize you against the harm of diet culture and weight bias so you can play big in your life, rediscover your innate body trust, and embrace radical self-love.

  • I believe Survivors. If you have experienced gender-based violence (physical, emotional, psychological, financial and/or sexual), I will provide non-judgmental emotional and practical support as you pursue safety and healing.

  • I understand that by transforming our relationship with ourselves we naturally become champions for others, and when self-care is combined with community care, that’s when we really thrive.

  • I’m committed to my on-going feminist praxis and education, learning from my brilliant and diverse community of friends, colleagues & mentors, as well as from experts who teach on subjects ranging from Transformative & Restorative Justice (h/t Mia Mingus, Leah Lakshmi Piepnza-Samarasinha) to Pleasure Activism (h/t adrienne maree brown) to Revolutionary Love (h/t Valarie Kaur) to Bad Feminism (h/t Roxane Gay). I stand humbly on the shoulders of giants, and do my best to interpret & apply their lessons responsibly.

  • I offer penalty-free payment plans in my 4-month coaching container, The Wellspring Mentorship, as well as pro-bono Wellspring Sessions for Survivors fleeing domestic violence.

  • My workshops are always accessibly-priced (around $50), and trauma-sensitive, with scholarships available that prioritize BIPOC and Survivors of interpersonal violence.

We might be a good fit if…

  • You are struggling in your relationships: to stand up for yourself; to create and/or uphold boundaries; to communicate more effectively; to heal old wounds that impact how you relate to others.

  • Your life feels dull: it’s lacking sensuality & vitality, and you just know there must be MORE.

  • You’ve been told you’re “too much” or you’re “over-sensitive”, but you sense there may be room for another, more trauma-informed way of understanding and loving yourself that you’re ready to explore.

  • You believe in gender equality, and you are totally into women’s empowerment, yet you don’t always feel equal or empowered in your life, job, relationships.

  • You have a hard time putting yourself first or pursuing desire & pleasure without guilt & shame.

  • You struggle with your identity and/or purpose after a significant change in your life: becoming a parent; changing careers; ending a relationship; navigating grief and loss.

  • You don’t feel enough: successful enough; feminine enough; slim enough; strong enough; healthy enough; smart enough.

  • You recognize that you might be playing too small (h/t Tara Mohr) in your life, and you want to shake things up.

I’m no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept.
— Angela Davis
